Did you review the heated seat operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Verify that the Heated Seat Switch Low Indicator Malfunction complaint is present.

Does the low temperature indicator of the heated seat switch operate as described in the Heated Seats Description and Operation?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Is the LO temperature indicator always on?

Go to Step 7

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the heated seat switch connector.
  3. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire from battery positive voltage to the battery voltage terminal of the heated seat switch.
  4. Probe the low temperature indicator terminal of the heated seat switch with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does LO temperature indicator illuminate?

Test the heated seat low temperature indicator control circuit between the heated seat switch and the door module for a short to battery voltage, a high resistance, or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the heated seat back only mode indicator control circuit between the heated seat switch and the door module for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the heated seat low temperature indicator control circuit between the heated seat switch and the door module for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the door control module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
