J 39400 Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

  2. Object Number: 523109  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C low temperature sensor.

  4. Object Number: 523115  Size: SH
  5. Unscrew the A/C low temperature sensor (1) from the evaporator hose.
  6. Remove and discard the O-ring from the evaporator hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new O-ring to the evaporator hose. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the A/C low temperature sensor (1) to the evaporator hose.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the sensor to 7.5 N·m (66 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
  6. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  7. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .
