Mobile Telephone Antenna Coaxial Cable Replacement UE1

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 734993  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  2. Remove the rear shelf panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Remove right rear sail panel. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Remove the sound deadening foam (1) from the right side of the vehicle.

  6. Disconnect the coaxial cable (2) from the inner antenna coupling (1).
  7. Disconnect the rear defogger electrical connector (4).
  8. Remove the rear defogger ground / coaxial cable hold down fastener (3).
  9. Remove the coaxial cable wire hold down (5).

  11. Disconnect the coaxial cable (1) from the VCU.
  12. Remove the trunk side trim from the right side of the vehicle. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side in Body Rear End.
  13. Important: Note the coaxial cable routing in order to correctly position the coaxial antenna cable during reassembly.

  14. Pull the coaxial cable into the rear compartment.
  15. Carefully remove the electrical tape from the wiring harness and remove the coaxial cable from the wiring harness.
  16. Remove the coaxial cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Reinstall the coaxial cable to the wiring harness, and re-tape the body wiring harness.
  2. Route the cable into the passenger compartment.
  3. Connect the coaxial cable (1) to the VCU.

  4. Object Number: 734986  Size: SH
  5. Connect the rear defogger electrical connector (4).
  6. Connect the coaxial cable (2) to the interior antenna coupling (1).
  7. Install the wire hold retainer (5).
  8. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the rear defroster ground / coaxial cable hold down fastener (3).
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).

  11. Install the sound deadening foam (1).
  12. Install the trunk side trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side in Body Rear End.
  13. Install the sail panel. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  14. Install the rear shelf panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  15. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
