Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 518257  Size: SH
  1. Remove the secondary AIR relay bracket retaining nuts (2).
  2. Remove the secondary AIR relay bracket (1) from the mounting studs.

  3. Object Number: 517960  Size: SH
  4. Remove the surge tank retaining nut (2) and bolt (3).
  5. Position and support the surge tank out of the way.

  6. Object Number: 649303  Size: SH
  7. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  8. Using J 25034-C remove the power steering pump pulley.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 643361  Size: SH
  1. Using J 25033-C install the power steering pulley to the power steering pump .

  2. Object Number: 254752  Size: SH
  3. Ensure that the axial tolerance of the power steering pulley on the power steering pump is within 0.25 mm (0.010 in), plus or minus.
  4. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 517960  Size: SH
  6. Install the surge tank (1) to the vehicle.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the surge tank retaining bolt (3) and nut (2).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the surge tank retaining bolt (3) and nut (2) to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  10. Install the secondary AIR relay bracket to the mounting studs.
  11. Install the secondary AIR relay bracket retaining nuts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the secondary AIR relay bracket retaining nuts (2) to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
