J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the suction hose nut from the accumulator.

  3. Object Number: 422256  Size: SH
  4. Remove the suction hose from the accumulator.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  6. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.

  7. Object Number: 1870058  Size: SH
  8. Remove the suction hose nut (2) from the compressor.
  9. Remove the suction hose (1) from the compressor.
  10. Remove and discard the sealing washers from the suction hose. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1870058  Size: SH
  1. Install new sealing washers to the suction hose. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  2. Install the suction hose (1) to the vehicle.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the suction hose (1) to the compressor.
  5. Install the suction hose nut (2) to the compressor.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  7. Lower the vehicle.

  9. Install the suction hose to the accumulator.
  10. Install the suction hose nut to the accumulator.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  12. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  13. Leak test the fittings using the J 39400-A .
  14. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
