Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear shelf panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the rear shelf panel reinforcement. Refer to Rear Shelf Carrier Replacement in Interior Trim.

  3. Object Number: 474803  Size: SH
  4. Remove the fastener (2) that retains the child tether anchor (1) that is being serviced.
  5. Remove the child tether anchor (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Important: During installation ensure that the child tether anchors are installed with the anti-rotation tabs firmly seated in the anti-rotation tab holes on the cross car beam. The anti-rotation tabs face forward on the outboard anchors. The center child tether anchor (1) and the anti-rotation tabs face the rear of the vehicle.

  1. Install the child tether anchor (1) to the cross car beam.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the child tether anchor fastener (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Install the rear shelf panel carrier. Refer to Rear Shelf Carrier Replacement in Interior Trim.
  6. Install the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
