Front Center Seat Replacement w/o UV8
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.
- Adjust both the left and the right front seats to the rear.
- Remove the 2 front center seat to floor
fasteners (1).
- Adjust both the left and the right front seats forward.
- Remove the 2 rear center seat to floor fasteners (2).
- Lift the center seat (3) in order to access the electrical
connector (4).
- Remove the front center seat (3) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the center seat (3) to
the vehicle.
- Connect the center seat electrical connector (4).
- Adjust both the left and the right front seats forward.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the 2 rear fasteners (2) to the center seat. (3).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners (2) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Adjust both the left and the right front seats to the rear.
- Install the 2 front fasteners (1) to the center seat (3).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners (1) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

Removal Procedure

- Disable air bag system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling
in SIR
- Remove the docking station from the center seat storage compartment. Refer to
Cellular Telephone Docking Station Replacement
in Cellular Communications.
- Remove the fasteners retaining the docking station adapter to the center seat.
- Lift up the docking station adapter and disconnect the coaxial antenna cable from the cellular phone coil cord.
- Remove the two fasteners from the interface card.
- Remove the interface card from the docking station adapter and disconnect the electrical connector from the interface card.
- Push the cellular phone coaxial cable and the interface card electrical connector through the opening in the bottom of the center seat storage compartment.
- Adjust both the left and the right front seats to the rear.
- Remove the two front center seat to floor fasteners (1).
- Adjust both the left and the right front seats forward.
- Remove the two rear center seat to floor fasteners (2).
- Lift the center seat (3) in order to access the center seat electrical connector (4).
- Remove the front center seat (3) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the center seat (3) to the vehicle.
- Pull the cellular phone wiring through the opening in the bottom of the center seat storage compartment.
- Connect the interface card electrical connector.

- Install the interface card to the docking station adapter.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).
- Connect the coaxial cable to the coil cord.
- Install the docking station adapter to the center seat.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).
- Install the docking station to the docking station adapter. Refer to
Cellular Telephone Docking Station Replacement
in Cellular Communications.
- Connect the center seat electrical connector (4).
- Adjust both the left and the right front seats forward.
- Install the two rear fasteners (2) to the center seat (3).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners (2) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Adjust both the left and the right front seats to the rear.
- Install the two front fasteners (1) to the center seat (3).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners (1) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling
in SIR.
