Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 284268  Size: SH
  1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Remove the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement .
  5. Remove the fascia extension panel. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement in Bumpers.

  6. Object Number: 493550  Size: SH
  7. Remove the power steering pressure hose bracket retaining nut (2) at the cylinder head.

  8. Object Number: 460600  Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the bracket at the frame.
  10. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering gear.
  11. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 460600  Size: SH
  1. Install the power steering pressure hose to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the bracket at the frame.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering gear.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pressure hose to power steering gear to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  6. Install the power steering pressure hose bracket and retaining nut to the cylinder head.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten power steering pressure hose bracket retaining nut (2) to cylinder head to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  8. Install the fascia extension panel. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement in Bumpers.
  9. Install the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement .
  10. Lower the vehicle.

  11. Object Number: 284268  Size: SH
  12. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pressure hose to power steering pump to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  14. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  15. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
