Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
  4. Remove the front bumper fascia extensions. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement in Bumpers.
  5. Disconnect all the electrical connectors to the lamps mounted in the front fascia.

  6. Object Number: 459973  Size: SH
  7. Loosen the bolts (1) retaining the front bumper fascia (2) to the front fender (6).
  8. Remove the nuts retaining the front bumper fascia stud plate (3) to the front fender (6).
  9. Remove the upper push in retainers (4) that secure the front bumper fascia (2) to the front impact bar (5).
  10. Remove the front bumper fascia from the vehicle by sliding forward.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the front bumper fascia (2) and the front energy absorber to the front impact bar (5).
  2. Install the upper push in retainers (4) in order to secure the front bumper fascia (2) to the front impact bar (5).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the retainer bolt (1) in order to secure the front bumper fascia (2) to the front fender (6).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the retainer nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  6. Install the nuts in order to retain the front bumper fascia stud plate (3) to the front fender (6).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the retainer bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  8. Connect all electrical connectors to the lamps mounted in the fascia.
  9. Install the front bumper fascia extensions. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement in Bumpers.
  10. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Close the hood.
