Heated Windshield Defrost Assist

The glass on your vehicle is thicker than standard glass and takes longer to defrost. The heated windshield defrost assist will speed up the windshield defrost time.

The windshield defrost assist will operate along with the rear window defogger and can be used to remove fog or frost from the windshield. This feature will only work while the ignition is in ON. See "Dual Climate Control System" in the Index of the DeVille owner manual for more information about defrosting.

REAR: Press this button to turn the windshield defrost assist and rear window defogger on or off. They operate together and cannot be controlled separately. Be sure to clear as much snow from the windshield and rear window as possible before starting the defrost cycle.

The system will turn off about 10 minutes after the button is pressed. If turned on again, the defogger will only run for about five more minutes before turning off. The defogger can also be turned off by pressing the button again or by turning off the engine.
