The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

A customer complaint of unwanted alarm activation, Trunk key cylinder hard to open, trunk ajar lamp on, fuel gauge inoperative, RKE inoperative, interior lamps inoperative and/or no communication with the Rear Integration Module (RIM) may be caused by an internally shorted trunk tamper switch.

Disconnect the trunk tamper switch and retest. If the symptoms are gone, replace the trunk tamper switch.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
