To ensure continued proper administration of the Value Protection Plan, the following details of the program are being republished for review by all dealer service personnel:
Cadillac vehicles that are identified, advertised, or described by a participating dealer to be eligible under the Value Protection Plan must first be inspected and reconditioned in accordance with the applicable vehicle reconditioning procedures furnished by Cadillac. The dealer certifies that said vehicle has been inspected and reconditioned by signing the application for registration form when enrolling the vehicle in the program.
A copy of the signed inspection form must be available in dealer file at all times.
The VPP registration form must be complete and accurate (V.I. Number should be double checked for accuracy) and mailed to the Cadillac Warranty Adminis- tration Department within 30 days of the date of sale. Registration forms received at Cadillac over 30 days after the effective date of the service agreement will not be accepted.
Repairs should be performed under the VPP program only when the owner furnishes an identification card or a copy of the registration form indicat- ing the effective date to be less than 60 days prior to the work date. If the registration form is presented, a photocopy should be attached to the repair order to substantiate the validity of the registration.
Close adherence to the type of work covered under the VPP program is essential. Attached is a detailed list of components covered under the terms of the program.
Particular attention must be given to the VPP coverage period. Claims for repairs performed beyond the 12 month/12,000 mile period covered by the plan will not be honored.
Please make sure all dealership and service personnel responsible for VPP registration and administration are aware of this information.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
