Some 1984 Eldorado Convertibles may experience a high front standing height condition. Front standing height should be within the specifications listed below. If standing height cannot be brought within specification by torsion bar adjustment, torsion bar rear anchor arms should be checked.
Eldorado Convertibles should be equipped with FK2 torsion bar rear anchor arms (PIN 22505389) which may be identified by a dab of green paint. If a vehicle is not equipped with FK2 anchor arms, install FK2 anchor arms and adjust torsion bars to correct front standing height.
For warranty purposes, use labor Operation No. E3300 at .3 hour to adjust or E3337 at 1.7 hours to replace anchor arms.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
