Some 1986 and 1987 Eldorados and Sevilles may experience one or more of the following conditions:
- Speedometer reads between 2 and 6 miles per hour fast at 55 mph.
- Numbers appear after driver information center messages.
- "UNLEADED FUEL ONLY" indicator does not appear below the fuel gage.
- "W=621" indicator appears to the right of the speed reading.
These conditions may be caused by a grounded export strap, circuit 945. Check for a short to ground on circuit 945 at BCM pin lDl. Ifcircuit 945 is shorted, repair by removing pin lDl from the BCM. For waffanty purposes, use Labor Operation N6360 at .5 hour.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
