Some 1986-1988 Eldorados and Sevilles may experience a condition of an inoperative console door latch. The latch lever may be broken or may not disengage the latch plu ng er when pulled. To repair this condition, install console latch service kit, P/N 1648174. The kit (refer to Figure 1) contains a latch housing, plunger, lever, and instruction sheet (including disassembly procedures for the broken latch).
For warranty purposes, use Labor Operation T6267 at .2 hour.
