Some 1986 Eldorados and Sevilles may have the A/C compressor discharge hose contacting the exhaust crossunder. To prevent potential hose damage, Eldorados and Sevilles with this condition should have the discharge hose inspected:
- If the discharge hose is undamaged whether or not the corrugate plastic rub through protector is damaged, move the discharge hose away from the exhaust crossunder pipe and strap it to the lower fan support using a tie strap, P/N 11509088 (see Figure 1).
- If the discharge hose is damaged, replace the compressor hose assembly and secure the new hose to the lower fan support using a tie strap, P/N 11509088 (see Figure 1).
Use labor operation T6185 at .2 hours to reposition and secure the A/C discharge hose.
Use labor operation D3088 at .6 hours to replace the A/C compressor hose assembly.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
