QUARTZ AND DIGITAL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REPAIR INFORMATION. Cadillac Eldorado 1986

Applies to: 1985 FWD Deville and Fleetwood 1981-1985 Eldorado or Seville with Digital Instrument Cluster

The 1985 FWD Deville and Fleetwood standard quartz and optional digital speedometer are availabe as an exchange unit from authorized AC-Delco service centers listed in this bulletin. The quartz replacement cluster requires the odometer to be transfered by the dealer from the inoperative cluster to the replacement cluster. On 1985 FWD Devilles and Fleetwoods with digital speedometers it is necessary to remove the odometer chip from the inoperative cluster and transfer it to the replacement cluster when service is required. Reference Serviceman Bulletin T-84-105, 31 group 8 for both procedures. Dealers should continue to handle repairs of 1981-85 Eldorado and Seville digital cluster service as in the past through any of the AC-Delco Servic Centers in this bulletin.

Listed below are the exchange units for all Cadillac quartz and digital speedometers used on 1985 FWD Devilles and Fleetwoods and 1981-85 Eldorado's and Sevilles with digital instrument clusters currently available through AC-Delco service centers:

Established warranty claim procedures and packaging instructions (Reference DSIB 83-I-5) are still in affect. To maintain the exchange cluster supply it is essential that inoperative clusters be returned to the AC-Delco service center immediatley after they are replaced.

To further improve the cluster exchange, AC-Delco has opened four additional repair centers bringing the total authorized repair centers in the U.S. to seven. These seven centers are listed below:
