PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION ADDITIONAL TIME ALLOWANCE

SUBJECT: 1986 ELOORADO AND SEVILLE PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION ALLOWANCE

The pre-delivery inspection procedure for 1986 Eldorados and Sevilles will contain two time allowance elements for performing the prescribed items on the inspection check sheet:

1. A base labor time allowance which includes installation of the front lower air deflector and standard aluminum wheel locking nuts.

2. An additional allowance of 0.1 hour for each $400 increment of Dealer Price* up to a maximum of one hour.

All Eldorados and Sevilles are in price group IV and qualify for the maximum one hour additional allowance. The total base and additional inspection allowance time is as follows:

Base Additional Total Carline Time Time Time ------- ---- ---- ---- Eldorado 2.4 1.0 3.4 Seville 2.4 1.0 3.4

Also, all Eldorados and Sevilles equipped with either factory ordered cellular mobile telephone option will require dealership installation which will be an additional allowance of 2.3 hours for UV8 (wiring installation only) or 2.5 hours for UV8 and UV9 (complete installation of wiring, transceiver and handset). (Note: Due to increased factory installed content since DSIB 86-I-1 the 1986 De Ville/Fleetwood cellular mobile telephone additional allowance is changed to .3 hours for UV8 only and .5 hours total for UV8 and UV9 when both options are ordered).

The combined time allowance will be computed on each individual vehicle and then multiplied by your approved mechanical warranty labor rate to establish the dollar amount you will be credited for performing this service.

The Gold Key delivery inspection procedure and DFI functional road test check sheets are the same for 1986 Eldorado and Seville models as for 1986 De Ville/Fleetwood models

Also, normal claim procedures will continue to apply for any warranty work which may be required when pre-delivery inspection is performed.

These allowances become effective with the shipment of 1986 Eldorado and Seville models.

* Dealer price of vehicle, factory-installed options and accessories excluding holdback amount, factory D & H and destination charges.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
