The HT4100 service engine assemblies listed below are now available through GM Parts and supersede all previously available partial engine assemblies. These hot tested service engines incorporate all refinements of current model production.

Service engine assemblies include: cylinder block assembly, connecting rods, piston and liner assemblies, crankshaft, crankshaft balancer, flywheel, camshaft and lifters, cylinder head assemblies including valve trains, camshaft and crankshaft sprockets with chain, front cover, water pump, oil pump, oil pan, intake manifold, exhaust manifolds (longitudinal only), oil filter, and instruction sheet.

When installing these service engine assemblies:

1. The following components must be transferred to the replacement service engine: exhaust manifolds (transverse only), throttle body, distributor with thrust washer, EGR valve, generator, power steering pump, vacuum pump, AIR pump, A/C compressor, and all brackets, pulleys and belts.

2. Before installation of the distributor, the distributor thrust washer must be transferred from the original engine to the service engine and a new distributor gear must be installed. Also, the new distributor gear must be lubricated with prelube P/N 992704.

3. The following items must be ordered separately as listed:

For warranty purposes, use labour Operation No. J1880 at 7.7 hours 'E/K', 8.4 hours RWD 'C/D', and 7.4 hours FWD-C.
