VACUUM PUMP FUSE: 15A/20A MANUAL CORRECTION

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986 Eldorado and seville

The initial printing of the 1986 Eldorado/Seville Service Information Manual incorrectly specifies the current rating of the vacuum pump fuse as 15 amps. The correct rating of the vacuum pump fuse on all 1986 Eldorados and Sevilles is 20 amps as indicated on the Accessory Relay Panel Label. This fuse is located in the underhood Accessory Relay Panel and is identified as 'VAC PUMP-FUSE 1'.

The following are the affected pages of the Service Information Manual:

pp. 1C-12, 1C-14 The figures on these pages show a 10amp A/C fuse. This should be the 20amp vacuum fuse.

pp. 1C-16, 1C-18 The figures on these pages show a 15amp vacuum fuse. This should be the 20amp vacuum fuse.

pp. 8A-10.6, 8A-11.13, All these pages show a 15 amp vacuum fuse. 8A-31.0, 8A-37.0, This should be the 20 amp vacuum fuse. 8A-63.3

pp. 8D-15 The 10 amp fuse from cavity 3D16 of the BCM connector should be a 20 amp fuse. pp. 8D2-60, 8D2-62, All these pages show a 10 amp A/C fuse. 8D2-64, 8D2-66 This should be the 20 amp vacuum fuse.

These changes will be included in the next loose-leaf Service Information Manual revision.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
