Some 1986 'E' and 'K' series vehicles equipped with Delco-Bose radios may experience a pop noise from the speakers when the brake is applied.

1. Turn ignition off and remove left-hand sound insulator.
2. Disconnect brake switch, remove two terminals from brake switch connector body, and discard connector body.
3. Remove two single cavity male connector bodies from jumper harness (P/N 12060761).
4. Install brake switch terminals (removed in step 2) into single cavity male connector bodies.
5. Reconnect single cavity connectors to matching wire colours.
6. Connect three cavity jumper harness connector to brake switch and reinstall left-hand sound insulator.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
