Cadillac Service Information Manuals sometime advise technicians to check for intermittent open circuits. This bulletin contains a procedure to inspect Micro-Pack female terminals. The female terminal may be oversized in the internal diameter causing intermittent open or high resistance connections.
To check a Micro-Pack terminal, first visually inspect the terminal using a flashlight, refer to Figure 1. Check to be sure that the terminal is properly retained in the connector body and check the crimp and wire retention. After visual inspection, use a .95mm pin gage to check the terminal inside diameter. Insert the gage into the front of the terminal.
- The female terminal should grip the pin gage securely.
- If the gage will drop through the terminal under its own weight, or if there is only a light drag on the gage from the terminal, the terminal should be repaired or replaced.
If the female terminal does not grip properly, replace the terminal with P/N 12020757. General directions on wiring repair and terminal replacement are shown in section 8A of the Service Information Manual.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
