WARRANTY AND TRANSPORTATION CLAIM PREPARATIONS MANUAL

Enclosed are two copies of revised pages for the Warranty and Transportation Claim Preparation Manual. These revisions have been made in order to provide the most comprehensive, up-to-date information required for proper claim preparation/reconciliation and contain important information about such areas as:

1. 1988 warranty coverages 2. Allante Assurance Plan 3. Revised Labor Operations with applicable warranty codes 4. Revised Parts Warranty Procedures (repair of vehicles other than Cadillac)*

* This revision pertains to Cadillac Business Management Dealers only. Please see page 37 for details.

You will notice that Section 1 has been completely revised to reflect warranty coverages for the 1988 model. Also, please note that all other changes have been shaded for easy reference. This manual has been kept in a looseleaf format which will allow for more frequent revisions. We will be providing revisions to the manual as necessary. Please direct any comments or suggestions to:

We strongly recommend that all dealership personnel responsible for preparation, submission and reconciliation of Warranty and Transportation Claims thoroughly review the manual. Upon receipt of the revised manual, please sign the attached acknowledgement of receipt form and return it to your Zone Office.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
