DELAYED AND HARSH UPSHIFTS REPLACE TV CABLE

MODELS AFFECTED: 1989 DE VILLES, FLEETWOODS, ELDORADOS, AND SEVILLES

Some 1989 DeVilles, Fleetwoods, Eldorados, or Sevilles may exhibit a condition of delayed and harsh upshifts. This may be caused by a dragging condition in the TV cable. To repair this condition use the following procedure:

1. Check the TV cable for a severe bend at the transmission end. Refer to Figure 1.

2. Replace the cable if severely bent with P/N l641916, which is currently available from GMSPO.
