SOME OWNERS MAY EXPERIENCE INCORRECT WORDING OF THREE DRIVER INFORMATION MESSAGES. ALTHOUGH THE MESSAGE WORDINGS ARE INCORRECT, THESE MESSAGES ARE NOT FALSE. A PROBLEM MUST BE PRESENT FOR ANY OF THE MESSAGES TO SET, THEREFORE DIAGNOSIS MUST BE PERFORMED AS IF THE MESSAGE WORDINGS ARE CORRECT. THESE MESSAGES ARE:
"CHECK OIL LESS" SHOULD BE "CHECK OIL LEVEL"
"STOP ENGINE, LOW OIL WAIT" SHOULD BE "STOP ENGINE, LOW OIL PRESSURE"
"WAIT ONE MINUTES" SHOULD BE "WAIT ONE MINUTE"
THIS CONDITION MAY BE CAUSED BY THE IPC CALIBRATION PROM (SOFTWARE).
TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION ENTER ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC AND RECORD THE IPC PROM I.D. (ID99).
IF THE PROM I.D. **IS OTHER THAN 0267**, REMOVE CLUSTER FROM I/P PER SECTION 8C OF THE SERVICE INFORMATION MANUAL AND INSTALL AN EXCHANGE CLUSTER FROM A GM AUTHORIZED EXCHANGE CENTER.
FOR VEHICLES REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY USE LABOR OPERATION N4180. USE PUBLISHED LABOR OPERATION TIME.

GENERAL MOTORS BULLETINS ARE INTENDED FOR USE BY PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIANS, NOT A "DO-IT-YOURSELFER". THEY ARE WRITTEN TO INFORM THOSE TECHNICIANS OF CONDITIONS THAT MAY OCCUR ON SOME VEHICLES, OR TO PROVIDE INFORMATION THAT COULD ASSIST IN THE PROPER SERVICE OF A VEHICLE. PROPERLY TRAINED TECHNICIANS HAVE THE EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND KNOW-HOW TO DO A JOB PROPERLY AND SAFELY. IF A CONDITION IS DESCRIBED, DO NOT ASSUME THAT THE BULLETIN APPLIES TO YOUR VEHICLE, OR THAT YOUR VEHICLE WILL HAVE THAT CONDITION. SEE A GENERAL MOTORS DEALER SERVICING YOUR BRAND OF GENERAL MOTORS VEHICLE FOR INFORMATION ON WHETHER YOUR VEHICLE MAY BENEFIT FROM THE INFORMATION.
