SUBJECT: INTERMITTENT "SERVICE RIDE CONTROL" MESSAGE (RSS DTC 44) SET OR ETC/STS HARSH RIDE CONCERN (RECALIBRATE)

MODELS: 1994-95 CADILLAC ELDORADO, SEVILLE 1995 CADILLAC CONCOURS

CONDITION:

A. SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT ON AN INTERMITTENT "SERVICE RIDE CONTROL" MESSAGE. AN RSS DTC 44 (LIFT/DIVE FAULT) MAY BE SET. NO FAULT WILL BE FOUND WHEN DIAGNOSING THE SYSTEM AS IT IS A SOFTWARE ERROR THAT OCCURS AT POWER-UP WHEN THE PCM AND RSS MODULE PERFORM A COMMUNICATION ROUTINE.

B. SOME OWNERS OF AN ETC OR STS MODEL MAY COMMENT ON A HARSH RIDE. RECALIBRATION OF AN ETC AS AN ELD OR AN STS AS AN SLS MAY CORRECT THE CONCERN.

CORRECTION:

IN AUGUST, 1995, A NEW VERSION OF THE TECH 1 CD IS BEING RELEASED WHICH CONTAINS REVISED SOFTWARE FOR THE 1994-95 ROAD SENSING SUSPENSION (RSS) SYSTEMS. ANY VEHICLE LISTED BELOW WITH EITHER OF THE ABOVE CONCERNS SHOULD BE RECALIBRATED PER THE NEW EEPROM ID.
