Some 1994 Eldorados (built after VIN breakpoint 602347) may have an additional hidden screw in the quarter trim panel. To check for this additional screw before removal of the trim panel use the following procedure. Refer to Figure 1.
1. Remove ashtray from trim panel.
2. Pull on trim panel at ashtray opening.
0 If trim panel pulls away from quarter panel, there is no additional screw.
0 If trim panel will not pull away from the quarter panel, there is a hidden screw. To locate, use a flat-bladed tool to feel between foam and plastic at the ashtray opening for screw. Remove screw.
3. Continue to remove trim panel.
Please update Section 10-7 of the appropriate Service Information Manual.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
