Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the nuts (2)
securing the front engine mount (1) to the engine frame.
- Remove the engine frame. Refer to
Frame Replacement
in Frame and Underbody.
- Remove the upper bolts securing the front engine mount bracket
to the cylinder head.
- Remove the nuts securing the front engine mount bracket to the
engine block.
- Remove the bolt securing the brace to the transaxle.
- Remove the transaxle support brace.
- Remove the front engine mount and the bracket.
Installation Procedure
- Position the front engine
mount bracket to the engine.
- Loosely install the upper bolts securing the front engine mount
bracket to the cylinder head.
- Install the transaxle support brace.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Loosely install
the transaxle support brace and the two lower front engine mount bracket nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts and bolts in the following sequence:
4.1. | Tighten the lower engine mount bracket nuts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft). |
4.2. | Tighten the transaxle support brace bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft). |
4.3. | Tighten the upper engine mount brace bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft). |
- Install the engine frame. Refer to
Frame Replacement
in Frame and Underbody.
- Install the nuts (2) securing the front engine mount (1)
to the engine frame.
Tighten
Tighten the front engine mount nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Lower the vehicle.
