Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly on the side of the vehicle the cable is to be removed. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation In Wheels and Tires.
  3. Loosen the park brake cable at the adjuster.

  5. Disconnect the left rear park brake cable from the equalizer (1).
  6. Remove the park brake cable to park brake lever retaining clip.
  7. Remove the park brake cable from the brake caliper park brake cable bracket.
  8. Remove the brake cable from the vehicle.
  9. Disconnect the right rear park brake cable from the intermediate park brake cable.

  11. Disconnect the park brake cable housing retainer from the rear suspension support.
  12. Use the following procedure to remove the park brake cable from the brake caliper assembly
  13. 10.1. Remove the retainer clip from the lever
    10.2. Remove the park brake cable (1) from the park brake lever slot on the caliper.
    10.3. Disengage the park brake cable housing retainer from the brake caliper park brake bracket.
  14. Remove the park brake cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 106206  Size: SH
  1. Install the park brake cable on the vehicle.
  2. Using the following procedure install the park brake cable onto the brake caliper.
  3. 2.1. Engage the park brake cable housing retainer onto the brake caliper park brake bracket.
    2.2. Install the park brake cable (1) onto the park brake lever slot.
    2.3. Install the retainer clip onto the lever.

  4. Connect the cable housing retainer to the suspension support.
  5. Connect the left rear park brake cable (1) to the intermediate park brake cable at the equalizer (2).
  6. Connect the right park brake cable (3) to the intermediate park brake cable.
  7. Adjust the park brake cable at the adjuster. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
  8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels and Tires.
