Removal Procedure

  1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 284266  Size: SH
  3. Remove the power steering cooler hose from the power steering pump.

  4. Object Number: 604181  Size: SH
  5. Remove the power steering cooler hose retaining bolt from the cylinder head.
  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  7. Object Number: 604183  Size: SH
  8. Remove the power steering cooler hose from the frame rail clip (1).

  9. Object Number: 604069  Size: SH
  10. Remove the power steering cooler hose from the radiator support clips.
  11. Remove the power steering cooler hose (2) from the power steering cooler.
  12. Remove the power steering cooler hose (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 604069  Size: SH
  1. Install the power steering cooler hose  (2) to the vehicle.
  2. Install the power steering cooler hose (2) to the power steering cooler (3).
  3. Install the power steering cooler hose to the radiator support clips.

  4. Object Number: 604183  Size: SH
  5. Install the power steering cooler hose to the frame rail clip  (1).

  6. Object Number: 284266  Size: SH
  7. Install the power steering cooler hose to the power steering pump.

  8. Object Number: 604181  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the power steering cooler hose retaining bolt at the cylinder head.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering cooler retaining bolt to 13 N·m (115 lb in).

  11. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  12. Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
