- Feed the connector through
the column.
- Install the turn signal switch assembly onto the race and upper
shaft assembly.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the 3 pan
head 6-lobed socket tapping screws (1).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Lubricate the signal switch arm assembly (4) with synthetic
grease.
- Install the signal switch arm assembly (4).
- Install the flat head tapping screw (3).
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (20 lb in).
- Install the round washer head screw (2).
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 4 N·m (31 lb in).
- Install the steering column
lock cylinder set terminal connectors.
- Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector
to the bulk head connector.
- Install the turn signal cancel cam and upper bearing inner race.

- Install the turn signal switch lever.
- Screw the tilt lever into the steering column.
- Install the hazard knob.
