The modular headliner (1) is a one-piece composite substrate that is covered with a foam cloth facing. You cannot service the cloth facing separately. Service the headliner as a complete assembly.
The wiring harness (3) for the roof lighting and the sunroof, if equipped, attaches to the rear of the headliner.
A locator magnet (2) is attached to the rear of the headliner. The locator holds the headlining in place.
Auxiliary sunshades and interior attachments (5) provide additional support in the front. If the vehicle is equipped with a sunroof, there are four patches of dual lock material (4) at the front and rear of the sunroof opening. (if equipped)
If you damage the locator at the rear during removal, obtain a locator repair kit through GM SPO. Repair the locator prior to the re-installation of the headliner.
For headliners without a sunroof, there is a glue bond which secures the headliner to the cardboard roof insulator.
