Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  3. Remove the secondary AIR pipe retaining bolt from the left engine mount strut bracket.
  4. Disconnect the surge tank inlet hose from the engine coolant outlet fitting.

  6. Remove the engine coolant outlet fitting.
  7. Remove the bolts securing the left engine mount strut bracket to the water crossover.
  8. Remove the left engine mount strut bracket from the water crossover.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 522922  Size: SH
  1. Position the left engine mount strut bracket to the water crossover.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts securing the left engine mount strut bracket to the water crossover.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the left engine mount strut bracket to water crossover bolts to 24 N·m (17 lb ft).

  5. Install the engine coolant outlet fitting.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the engine coolant outlet fitting to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  7. Install the secondary AIR pipe retaining bolt to the left engine mount strut bracket.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the secondary AIR pipe retaining bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  9. Connect the surge tank inlet hose to the engine coolant outlet fitting.
  10. Install the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  11. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
