J 37043 Parking Brake Cable Release

Caution: Refer to Brake Dust Caution in the Preface section.

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the left rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation In Tires and Wheels.
3. Loosen the park brake cable at the adjuster.



4. Disconnect the left rear park brake cable (1) from the equalizer (2).



5. Remove the retaining clip from the park brake lever.
6. Disconnect the left rear park brake cable (2) from the park brake lever (3).
7. Using J 37043 depress the locking tabs on the left rear park brake cable (2).
8. Remove the left rear park brake cable (2) from the left rear caliper park brake cable bracket (1).



9. Using J 37043 depress the locking tabs on the left rear park brake cable (2).
10. Remove the left rear park brake cable (2) from the left rear support mounting bracket (1)

1. Press the left rear park brake cable (2) into the park brake cable support bracket (1). Ensure that the locking tabs are properly seated.



2. Install the left rear park brake cable (2) into the left rear brake caliper park brake cable bracket (1). Ensure that the locking tabs are properly seated.
3. Connect the left rear park brake cable (2) to the left rear park brake actuator lever (3).
4. Install the left rear retainer clip onto the park brake lever.



5. Connect the left rear park brake cable (1) to the equalizer (2).
6. Adjust the park brake cable. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
7. Install the left rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
8. Lower the vehicle.
