Removal Procedure
  1. Remove closeout/insulator panel to access the park brake lever assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

    2. Object Number: 262987 Size: SH
  2. Disconnect the vacuum line from the vacuum release actuator.
  3. Remove the vacuum release actuator mounting bolt.
  4. Remove the vacuum release actuator.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the vacuum release actuator to the park brake lever assembly.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the vacuum release actuator mounting bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the park brake vacuum release actuator mounting bolt to 24 N·m (18 lb  ft).

  3. Connect the vacuum line to the vacuum release actuator.
  4. Reposition carpet.
  5. Install the closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
