Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 583907  Size: SH
  1. Locate the left and/or right proportioning valves (2) under the vehicle.
  2. Important: Install a rubber cap or plug to the exposed brake pipe fitting end in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  3. Remove the left and/or right proportioning valve/valves from the brake pipe (1).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the left and/or right proportioning valve/valves (2) into the brake pipe (1).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  3. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
