Power Steering Fluid Cooler Replacement for Cadillac Eldorado 2002

1. Remove the power steering return hose  (1) at the power steering cooler.
2. Remove the power steering cooler hose  (2) at the power steering cooler.
3. Remove the power steering cooler retaining bolts.
4. Remove the power steering cooler from the vehicle.

1. Install the power steering cooler to the vehicle.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the power steering cooler retaining bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the power steering retaining bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

3. Install the power steering return hose  (1) to the power steering cooler.
4. Install the power steering cooler hose  (2) to the power steering cooler.
5. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
6. Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
