J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  3. Object Number: 304959  Size: SH
  4. Remove the condenser inlet and outlet lines (1).
  5. Remove the condenser to radiator attachment bolts.

  6. Object Number: 304961  Size: SH
  7. Remove the condenser (3).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 304961  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the condenser (3) to the radiator.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 12 N·m (9 lb ft).

  3. Install the radiator and condenser assembly into the vehicle. Refer to Radiator Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  4. Object Number: 304959  Size: SH
  5. Connect the refrigerant lines to the condenser (3).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the condenser line fittings to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  8. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .
