Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear shelf panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  2. Object Number: 604136  Size: SH
  3. Remove the fasteners retaining the child restraint tether anchors (1, 2) to the cross car beam that are being serviced.
  4. Remove the child restraint tether anchors center (1), outboard (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Important: During installation make sure the child restraint tether anchors center (1), outboard (2) are installed with the anti-rotation tabs firmly seated in the anti-rotation holes on the cross car beam. The anti-rotation tabs face forward on both the center and outboard anchors.

  1. Install the child restraint tether anchors (1, 2) to the cross car beam.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the child restraint tether anchor fasteners.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the child restraint tether anchor fasteners to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Install the rear shelf panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
