Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 657734  Size: SH
  1. Open the fuel filler door.
  2. Remove the fuel cap.
  3. Remove the nut securing the fuel filler door release actuator to the fuel filler pocket.
  4. Remove the 4 fasteners retaining the fuel filler pocket (1).
  5. Remove the 3 fasteners (2) retaining the filler pipe (3).
  6. Carefully pull the release cable rearward in order to remove the fuel filler pocket.
  7. Remove the fuel filler pocket (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Pull the release cable rearward, in order to install the fuel filler pocket past the door latch.
  2. Position the fuel filler pocket (1).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the 4 fasteners in order to retain the fuel filler pocket (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the 4 fasteners to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the 3 fasteners (2) in order to retain the filler pipe to the filler pocket.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 1.8 N·m (16 lb in).

  8. Install the fuel filler door release actuator retaining nut.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 3 N·m (26.5 lb in).

  10. Install the fuel cap.
  11. Close the fuel filler door.
