Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear compartment lid.
  2. Remove the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Front Trim Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.

  3. Object Number: 604133  Size: SH
  4. Remove the nuts (2) securing the seat back studs (1) to the cross car beam support from inside of the rear compartment.

  5. Object Number: 604134  Size: SH
  6. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
  7. Remove the nuts (1) securing the seat back guide wire loops to the center seat belts.
  8. Pull inward at the top of the seat back and lift upward in order to remove.
  9. Remove the seat back from the body.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 593282  Size: SH
  1. Position the seat back to the rear cross car beam support.
  2. Important: Ensure the rear shoulder belts are not behind the seatback.

  3. Position the rear shoulder belts in front of the rear seatback prior to securing the seatback.

  4. Object Number: 604133  Size: SH
  5. Push the seat back studs (1) into the holes of the rear cross car beam support.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the nuts (2) from inside of the rear compartment.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  9. Ensure the lower seatback guide wire loops are on top of the seatbelt buckle studs located on the floorpan.

  10. Object Number: 604134  Size: SH
  11. Install the nuts (1) in order to secure the seat back guide wire loops to the center seat belts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  13. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement
  14. Install the rear compartment front trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Front Trim Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.
  15. Close the rear compartment lid.
