Circuit Description

The memory seat module (MSM) is supplied battery positive voltage (B+) from the seats circuit breaker in the left underhood fuse block. This battery positive voltage (B+) supply is the source power for the seat motors.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The battery positive supply voltage (B+) is out of the 9.0-15.5 volt range.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The dirty battery positive voltage (B+) is within a valid operating range during the last monitoring cycle.

Test the Seats Circuit Breaker in the left underhood fuse block for an open.

Does the Seats Circuit Breaker test OK?

Measure the voltage from the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the memory seat module to a good ground.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

9-15 V

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the memory seat module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the memory seat module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the short to ground in the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the memory seat module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text.
