Did you review the heated mirror system and perform the necessary inspection?

Verify that the Heated Mirrors Inoperative - One complaint is present.

Does the heated mirror system operate as described in the system description and operation?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Remove the mirror face (glass) from the mirror that does not heat. Refer to Mirror Face Replacement - Outside Electrochromatic .
  3. Disconnect the heated mirror harness connector from the mirror face.
  4. Connect a digital multimeter (DMM) between the mirror heater circuits.
  5. Turn the ignition ON.
  6. Command the mirror to heat by turning the rear defroster ON.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the connector C1 from the mirror that does not heat.
  3. Test the heated mirror for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the heated mirror supply voltage circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the ground circuit of the inoperative mirror. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the inoperative mirror. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the inoperative outside mirror face. Refer to Mirror Face Replacement - Outside Electrochromatic .
