Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 370913  Size: SH
  1. Open the door.
  2. Remove the bottom edge of the auxiliary weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Bottom Auxiliary Sealing Strip Replacement in Doors.
  3. Remove the screws (2) that retain the molding at the front and the rear wheel openings.
  4. Remove the 4 fasteners that retain the lower edge of the molding (3).
  5. Pull upward on the top edge of the molding in order to release the 3 clips.
  6. Pull the forward edge of the molding outward in order to release the retainer pin (1).
  7. Pull the rear edge of the molding outward in order to release the 2 retainers pins.
  8. Remove the rocker panel molding (3).
  9. Remove the damaged retainers from the body and the molding.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install new retainers (1) if needed.
  2. Install the rocker panel molding (3) to the body.
  3. Slip the molding under the open door.
  4. Align the rear edge of the molding to the rear edge of the rocker panel.
  5. Align the 3 retainers on the molding to the holes in the rocker panel.
  6. Press the rear edge of the molding in order to seat the retainers to the rocker panel.
  7. Press inboard to seat the face of the molding into the rocker panel with 3 retainers.
  8. Press the forward edge of the molding in order to seat the retainer pins.
  9. Secure the top edge of the molding to the rocker panel with 3 clips.
  10. Press downward on the top edge of the molding in order to seat the 3 clips.
  11. Secure the bottom of the molding (3) to the rocker panel with 3 clips.
  12. Install the 3 fasteners to the bottom edge of the molding.
  13. Push in the integral plungers in order to engage the clips.
  14. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  15. Secure the rear edge of the rocker molding into the wheelhouse flange with a screw (2).
  16. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  17. Install the bottom edge of the auxiliary weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Bottom Auxiliary Sealing Strip Replacement in Doors.
  18. Close the door.
