Removal Procedure

    Notice: Be sure to follow the service procedure when removing the air inlet grille panel. Failure to follow service procedure may cause damage to the air inlet grille panel or the windshield.

  1. Remove the wiper arm assemblies. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.

    2. Object Number: 657499 Size: SH
  2. Remove the air inlet grille panel retainers (1, 3).
  3. Remove the push-in retainers (2).
  4. Disconnect the washer hose (5).
  5. Remove the rear weatherstrip seal from the pinch-weld flange.
  6. Remove the air inlet grille panel (4).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 657499 Size: SH
  1. Connect the washer hose (5).
  2. Position the air inlet grille panel (4) to the air inlet cowl.
  3. Apply downward pressure to the grille while installing the retainers.

    4. Important: Install the retainers in the sequence.

  4. Install the center, push-in retainer first, until fully seated.
  5. Install the remaining retainers, as illustrated, until fully seated.
  6. Install the air inlet grille panel retainers (1, 3) until fully seated.
  7. Secure the rear weatherstrip seal to the pinch-weld flange.
  8. Install the wiper arm assemblies. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
