Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the cornering lamp assembly. Refer to Parking and Turn Signal Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  2. Remove the headlamp capsule assembly. Refer to Headlamp Capsule Replacement in Lighting Systems.

    3. Object Number: 657985 Size: SH
  3. Remove the headlamp opening filler (3). Refer to Upper Front Fender Filler Panel Replacement .
  4. Note the position of the electrical connectors prior to the removal of the headlamp housing panel.

    5. Object Number: 657986 Size: SH
  5. Remove the headlamp housing panel fasteners (1, 2, 3, 4).
  6. Carefully pull outward the headlamp housing panel (2).
  7. Guide the electrical connectors from the headlamp housing panel.
  8. Remove the headlamp housing panel from the radiator core support.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 657986 Size: SH
  1. Install the headlamp housing panel (2) to the radiator core support.
  2. Ensure the electrical connectors are properly positioned through the headlamp housing panel.
  3. Ensure the housing is located over the studs (1) at the front edge of the fender.

    4. Notice: The correct tightening sequence must be followed. If the correct sequence is not followed, the headlamp components may warp and cause premature failure of the system.

  4. Install only the top nut (1) at the fender location.

    5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the headlamp housing panel fasteners (1, 2, 3, 4).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners in sequence, as shown to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  6. Install the headlamp opening filler (3). Refer to Upper Front Fender Filler Panel Replacement .
  7. Install the headlamp capsule assembly. Refer to Headlamp Capsule Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  8. Install the cornering lamp assembly. Refer to Parking and Turn Signal Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  9. Aim the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Aiming in Lighting Systems.
