Removal Procedure
- Remove the park/turn signal lamp assembly. Refer to Parking and Turn Signal Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
- Remove the headlamp capsule assembly. Refer to Headlamp Capsule Replacement in Lighting Systems.
- Remove the fasteners (1) securing the filler panel to the headlamp housing.
- Remove the nut (2) securing the filler panel (3) to the headlamp housing panel (1).
- Pull outward in order to remove the filler panel.
Installation Procedure
- Install the headlamp opening filler (3) to the headlamp housing panel (1).
- Install the fasteners.
- Tighten the fender nut (2) to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the headlamp capsule. Refer to Headlamp Capsule Replacement in Lighting Systems.
- Install the park/turn signal assembly. Refer to Parking and Turn Signal Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
- Aim the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Aiming in Lighting Systems.
Notice: The correct tightening sequence must be followed. If the correct sequence is not followed, the headlamp components may warp and cause premature failure of the system.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the screws in sequence to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).
