Removal Procedure
- Remove the front fascia
extensions. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement
.
- Remove the lower air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Disconnect the left and the right side marker lamp sockets.
- Remove the fog lamps from the brackets, if equipped.
- Disconnect the horn electrical connector.
- Remove the bolts (3) that secure the bumper to the energy
absorbers.
- Disengage the fascia guides (1).
- With an assistant, remove the front bumper by pulling the bumper
straight from the vehicle.
- Remove the plastic retainers (3)
that secure the impact bar (1) to the fascia (2)
- Gently pry the impact bar upper retainer tabs from the front bumper
fascia (2)
- Remove the impact bar (1).
- Release the retainer tabs and remove the moldings.
- Remove the clips that retain the side marker lamps to the fascia.
- Remove the side marker lamps from the fascia.
- Remove both front fascia support brackets.
Installation Procedure
- Install the side marker
lamps to the fascia.
- Install the clips that secure the lamps to the fascia.
- Position the upper side moldings to the fascia.
Press
inward the moldings in order to engage the retainer tabs.
- Install the impact bar (1) to the fascia (2).
- Install new plastic retainers in order to secure the top of the
fascia (2) to the impact bar (1).
- Install the support brackets to the front fascia.
- Install new plastic retainers in order to secure the support brackets
to the fascia.
- With an assistant, position
the front bumper to the vehicle.
Ensure that both of the fascia
guides (1) are engaged to the front fascia brackets.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts (3) in order to secure the impact bar to the
energy absorbers.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Connect the horn electrical connector.
- Install the fog lamps to the mounting brackets, if equipped.
- Connect the left and the right side marker lamp sockets, rotate
the sockets 45 degrees in order to secure.
- Install the lower air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Install the front fascia extensions. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement
.
