Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Place the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMP position.
  3. Observe the headlamps.

Do the low beam headlamps illuminate?

  1. Cover the ambient light sensor.
  2. Move the twilight control out of the OFF position.
  3. Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
  4. Wait 20 seconds.

Do the low beam headlamps illuminate?

Turn OFF the ignition.

Did the headlamps remain illuminated by the twilight sentinel delay feature?

  1. Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Place the twilight enable switch in the ON position.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the Twilight Switch parameter in the Instrument Cluster (IPC) inputs data list.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Twilight Switch parameter is ON?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the headlamp switch.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the Twilight Switch parameter.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Twilight Switch parameter is ON?

  1. Place the twilight enable switch in the OFF position.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the Twilight Switch parameter.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Twilight Switch parameter is OFF?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the headlamp switch.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper between the twilight enable signal circuit and the ground circuit of the headlamp switch.
  5. With a scan tool, observe the Twilight Switch parameter.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Twilight Switch parameter is OFF?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the Twilight Delay parameter in the Instrument Cluster (IPC) inputs data list .

Does the scan tool indicate that the Twilight Delay parameter is within the specified range?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the headlamp switch.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the Twilight Delay parameter.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Twilight Delay parameter is greater than the specified value?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the twilight sentinel signal circuit and the low reference circuit of the twilight delay switch.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the Twilight Delay parameter.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Twilight Delay parameter is greater than the specified value?
