Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear compartment lid.
  2. Remove the rear compartment trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement in Body Rear End.

  3. Object Number: 696400  Size: SH
  4. Remove the wing nuts securing the tail lamp to the rear end body panel.

  5. Object Number: 696402  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the bulb sockets (1 ,2, 3).
  7. Disengage the retainer securing the electrical harness to the tail lamp.
  8. Remove the tail lamp assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 696400  Size: SH
  1. Partially install the tail lamp assembly.
  2. Connect the bulb sockets.
  3. Engage the clip for the electrical harness.
  4. Ensure the foam gaskets are in place over the studs.

  5. Object Number: 365039  Size: SH
  6. Position the lamp (2) to the rear end body panel.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the wing nuts (1) in order to secure the tail lamp (2).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the wing nuts to 4.5 N·m (40 lb in).

  10. Install the rear compartment trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement in Body Rear End.
